Sunday night was the end of our semester at Life Teen on the Person of Christ and we ended it with a bit of a party.  In fact, it was a graduation of sorts.  Well, more like an Anti-Graduation!

Our night started with our valedictorian Jennette giving us an inspirational speech about going out into the world.  I then had the prestigious honour of handing out some very special awards.  We then had our honours students, Justin and Corwin of course, talk to us about the importance of not thinking that Confirmation, or even graduating high school are excuses to stop going to Church and that we should continue to grow in our faith as we journey through life towards our goal of heaven.  Check out our youtube account for some fun videos.

I just wanted to remind you all that we have Mass this Sunday, January 30th but no Life Night due to the Pillar Life Teen retreat happening in Sussex, New Brunswick this weekend.  Please keep those youth and leaders that will be attending the retreat in your prayers this week.

Our regular Life night will return on February 6th when we introduce the new semester with a night called Attitude Check!

Sunday night at LifeTeen we celebrated a sacrament and got messy using our talents! (That would be where the whipped cream comes in! )

The past two weeks and this coming weekend we’ve been(and will be) talking about Stewardship at Mass and this past Life night we talked about our role as stewards. Father James came and gave a great talk which you can check out on our YouTube page. But the fun started with crazy games that involved chugging ginger ale, putting ice cubes on your face and tossing cereal onto your partners whipped cream-covered face! Thanks to all that got messy!

What’s up next week? We’ll be Immersed… That’s all your getting from me! Also retreat forms are due next on November 1st to avoid paying the late fee!

Last night at LIFE TEEN we started our new semester on the Sacraments.  The night started off with Lynne finding out she was a new contestant on Survivor when second-class host Jerry Probst came out during the announcements.  But then it went downhill when she was kidnapped by a scary tribal guy with a big stick!  

In the hall all the youth and Core team were given their torches to represent life, their life in the game!  Three lucky teens entered into the contest with the big scary tribal dude and competed in a rock inspection, water chugging and finally a yucky food challenge!  For the recipe please contact Brad! =D

We got a talk on what Sacraments are about and then broke off into small groups to break open what kind of rituals we have, what they mean to us and what Sacraments really are. 

It was a great kick-off to the new semester!  What’s up next week at LIFE TEEN?  Well, we are getting Food Poison!  (Not really!)  Father James Mallon is our special guest!  You don’t want to miss this night!
