Brad MacKinnon Youth Minister

Hi my name is Brad MacKinnon and I am the youth minister for STACM. I come from 3 1/2 yrs as the pastoral associate for St Theresa’s Parish. I was the founding father of LIFE TEEN Halifax and have spent the last 2 1/2 yrs running the Sunday ministry.
I was born and raised in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and grew up in a small community called Cole Harbour. I grew up attending mass at Blessed John the 23rd parish where LIFE TEEN Dartmouth is now celebrating its 7th year. I was involved in several parish activities including Knights of Columbus, parish council, religious education (gr 2, 3, 7, and 9), youth retreats, and finally as a core member for LIFE TEEN Dartmouth. while being involved in my parish I graduated from high school in 1999 and proceeded to get a degree in arts at Mount Saint Vincent University and have studied at St. FX in ministry and have a Certificate in Youth Ministry from the University of Stubenville in Ohio, USA. I am also currently working on my Masters in Divinity at the Atlantic School of Theology in Halifax.
My faith really came alive when I took a trip to Toronto for World Youth Day in 2002. from that moment on I knew I was called to be involved in ministry in the church and began to discern Gods will in my life. after time discerning the priesthood, I dedicated my life to youth ministry. willing to go anywhere in the world to become a Youth Minister I was pleasantly surprised to be sent here in Halifax to start LIFE TEEN at St. Theresa’s.
Blessed John the 23rd, my original parish, was also the parish where I met my beatiful wife Therese, and where we got married Nov 6th, 2004. We have two children named Madeleine born Nov 22nd 2006 and was baptized Dec 17th at one of our LIFE TEEN masses in Halifax and James born July 24th 2008 and to be baptized, Oct. 19, 2008 also at the LT Mass.
God has led me to become a full time youth minister at this wonderful parish and spend more time with my wife and kids. He has blessed me with a wonderful life.

Lynne Thomas

Assistant Youth Minister

I’m Lynne Thomas and I’m the Assistant Youth Minister at STACM. I am 37 years old and have been married 14 years. My husband, Ian and I have 2 wonderful boys, Owen, age 12 and Connor, age 8 and we live in Cole Harbour.

While I’m not at work I keep myself busy by volunteering at my children’s schools. I am also involved in Scouting as a Beaver Leader in Cole Harbour.

Justin Bonin Core
My name is Justin Bonin. I go to St Michael’s parish and I went to LifeTeen from grades 9 to 12. Last year I was a crew member for EDGE, and I just graduated from LifeTeen last summer… and now I’m a core member !!

Jessica Francis Core

My name is Jessica Therese Francis. I love to sing songs. When I was young, I never liked going to church because I thought it was boring. I can still remember that when the priest would say his Homily I had no thought of what was going on at church. I prayed really hard for people my age to come to Mass and now I am happy with the LifeTeen Mass that I get to see people my age come. I am even happy that I get to sit and talk with all of you!
